Message from the President:
Dear Members of SASA,
Welcome to the 2009 South Atlantic Shrine Association Web Site. I hope when visiting our web site, you are able to find the information you are looking for, contained herein. If not, please give Director General Mike Harrell a call or myself and we will do our best to provide you the information you seek.
The upcoming Mid-Winter meeting in Williamsburg VA is scheduled for March 27th and 28th. I hope all of our SASA Potentates, their Divans, SASA Past Presidents and all the Nobles and Ladies of SASA can come be with us in Historic Williamsburg. A very interesting site, right next to Williamsburg located on the James River is our nation’s 1st permanent English settlement, Jamestown, created May 14th, 1607. You can also take a ride up the Colonial Parkway and head to Yorktown VA where on October 19th, 1781 General Cornwallis surrendered to General George Washington effectively ending the American Revolutionary War. There are 9 18th Century buildings that survived that battle and they still exist and can be seen today. Come early or stay late, but bring the family and visit historic Williamsburg.
Please plan to attend the SASA business meeting on Saturday the 28th where our Imperial Potentate, Doug Maxwell and our Imperial High Priest and Prophet, Alan Madsen will provide us with up to date information on both our Hospitals and our Fraternity.
Lastly, I want to say what a privilege it is for me to be your President for 2008-09 and I want to thank everyone in advance for your support during this shrine year. I sincerely hope that all of the Nobles and Ladies of our 19 SASA Temples can come to both Williamsburg and then in Virginia Beach this September for the sole purpose of having fun, fellowshipping with your brother Noble and displaying the banner of Shrinedom for the continued public awareness of our Shriners Hospitals For Children, The Worlds Greatest Philanthropy.
Sincerely yours in the Faith,
David L. Monell, PP
