Illustrious Sir Doyle C. Simmons, PP (Oasis)

President of the S.A.S.A. - 2012 - 2013

GREENSBORO Doyle C. Simmons, 79, of Greensboro passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2019. A celebration of life will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, February 10, 2019, at the Oriental Shrine Club located at 5010 Gate City Blvd. in Greensboro.

Mr. Simmons was born in Francisco, North Carolina on October 15, 1939. He is preceded in death by his parents Philip Fletcher Simmons and Lily Irene Briles. He is survived by his beloved wife, Katherine Simmons; children, Clifton Simmons (Laura) and Steve Simmons; grandchildren, Stephanie Simmons, Traci Simmons, Michelle Simmons, Quentin Doyle Simmons and one great-grandchild, Selena Shepherd. Doyle served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. He then had an impressive career in brokerage sales in the life insurance industry. Doyle's passion was with the fraternal organizations to which he belonged.

He was a member of the Freemasons, Scottish Rite and the Shiners for the past 44 years. He even held the position of potentate with the Oasis Shriners at their headquarters. He was also a past officer of the Jesters. He was also a member of the Masonic Home Chapel for many years.

He was loved by all who knew him and his passing will leave a void in many lives. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Shriner's Children's Hospital, 604 Doug Mayes Pl., Charlotte, NC 28262. Forbis and Dick North Elm Street Chapel is serving the Simmons family.
