Illustrious Sir Jack Thompson (Omar)

Co-Director General of S.A.S.A. - 2014-2015

 

Pamplico – Jack Thompson, 70, died April 25, 2016 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 1625, Hwy 57, Dillon, SC, with Pastor Bill Greene officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery with Masonic Rites. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. at the church prior to the service. Kannaday Funeral Home in Dillon is assisting the family.

Mr. Thompson was born in Dillon County, SC on January 1, 1946, the son of the late Willie Mack and Mary Christine Jackson Thompson. He retired as a self-employed Transportation Broker. Jack was a Shriner and a member of Clinton Lodge #60 in Marion, SC, Omar Shriners Center, Pee Dee Shriners Club, Southern Baptist Disaster Relief Cooking Unit, and Woodman of the Word . He was a member of Hebron Baptist Church in Scranton, SC.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Davis Thompson of the home; son, Jack “Jay” Wesley Thompson (Becky) of Florence, SC; daughter, Christi Marie Daniels (Jaden) of Little River, SC; sister, Janice Marie Morris (Terry) of Dillon, SC; eight grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Jack was predeceased by his step-son, Jamie Mishue.
