| President Doyle Simmons (Oasis) welcomed everyone to the Spring Meeting of the South Atlantic Shrine Association and requested that Director General John T. “Tom” Price, Jr. conduct the meeting. |
| |
| Director General Price led the Shrine Pledge of Allegiance after which he called on SASA and Imperial Chaplain John H. Stanley to give the invocation. Price introduced Oasis Potentate Fred Laxton to welcome those attending to the Oasis jurisdiction. |
| |
| Following Potentate Laxton’s welcome Price introduced the Grand Master of North Carolina, Most Worshipful Dewey R. Preslar, Jr., who delivered an inspiring Masonic unity message to those in attendance. |

| Following the Grand Master’s message Price introduced the SASA officers as follows: |

| Director General Price called on the Secretary to read the minutes of the previous meeting, a motion was duly made, seconded and carried to dispense with the reading of the minutes. |

| Gaddy then call the roll of the representatives followed by report for the Finance and Audit Committee in the absence of Ill. Sir Bill Harward who chairs that committee. Gaddy read a letter from Harward who stated in has letter that he had found the records of 2012 in order. A motion was duly made, seconded and carried to approve this report. |

| Gaddy then gave the Secretary/Treasurer’s finance report noting that at the beginning of the year we had $36,488.52 in checking at Wells Fargo Bank and $55,616.60 is savings for a total of $92,105.21. Checks had been written in the amount of $15,093.32, deposits made in the amount of $45,422.22, savings interest in the amount of $35.52 giving a total in the bank as of February 28, 2013 of checking, $66,815.78 and savings in the amount of $55,652.21 in Wells Fargo Bank. He reported that there was $5,000 in the Myrtle Beach bank account for the fall session giving a grand total in the amount $127,467.99 in both banks. A motion was duly made, seconded and carried to accept this report. |

| Gaddy reported for Ill. Sir Willard Nicholson who serves as Membership Chairman noting that at the beginning of last year the association had a membership of 44,889 and at the beginning of this year a membership of 44,107 showing a lost in membership of 1,301. He noted that four Temples had a gain in membership for the past year, they were: Alee, +14; Kosair, +72; Omar, +7; and Rizpah, +26. A motion was duly made, seconded and carried to approve this report. |

| Ill. Sir Frank McAllister, Chairman of the Credential reported that there were 159 Nobles registered for this spring meeting. Ill. Sir Don Ratliff, Chairman of the Time and Place Committee reported future dates and sites and follows: |

| A motion was duly made, seconded and carried to approve these two reports. |

| Ill. Sir Ray Fields, chairman of the Nominating Committee reported that it was Jericho’s time to nominate someone for 5th Vice President and their membership and Divan had recommended Ill. Sir Greg Diffenderfer. This was for information only and the official report will be submitted at the annual meeting in September to acted on. |

| The meeting was recessed for lunch and resumed at 1:00 pm. |
| |
| The first order of business was PIP Douglas Maxwell, Chairman of the Shriners Hospital for Children Board who presented progress of the hospitals and action taken since the annual session. |
| |
| He was followed by Imperial Sir Jim Smith who gave a report on the spread of the Shrine internationally. Imperial Sir Gary Bergenske reported on the Imperial Public Relations progress since the Imperial Session. |
| |
| The final speaker of the day was Imperial Potentate Alan Madsen who reported on the third part insurance in our hospitals and relations between some of the Grand Masters and the Shrine. |
| |
